Maximizing the Lifespan of Your Vehicle Wrap: Care Instructions

Congratulations on investing in a premium vehicle wrap from Pureblind! To ensure that your wrap maintains its pristine appearance and durability for years to come, it’s essential to follow proper care instructions. Here’s our comprehensive guide to preserving the beauty and integrity of your wrap:

  • Avoid Automated Car Washes: While it may be tempting to opt for convenience, automated car washes with brushes can cause damage to your wrap. If you must use an automated car wash, choose a touchless option to minimize the risk of abrasion.
  • Opt for Manual Washing: The best way to clean your wrap is by hand using a power washer. Start with a high-pressure soap wash to remove dirt and grime, followed by a spot-free rinse to prevent water spots. Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently dry the surface, avoiding abrasive brushes at all costs.
  • Regular Waxing: Just like traditional paint, your wrap benefits from regular waxing to maintain its protective coating. Waxing helps recondition the laminate top coat of the vinyl, preventing brittleness, cracking, and peeling while providing additional UV protection to prevent fading.
  • Ceramic Coating: For extended durability and enhanced protection, consider applying a ceramic coat to your wrap. Our in-house ceramic coating service offers up to 4-5 years of UV protection, increased scratch resistance, and prolonged lifespan for your wrap.
  • Garage Storage: Storing your vehicle in a garage overnight can significantly prolong the lifespan of your wrap by shielding it from harsh environmental elements and UV exposure.
  • Prompt Maintenance: If your vehicle encounters magnesium chloride or other corrosive substances on the road, it’s crucial to wash it as soon as possible to prevent damage to the wrap.
  • Monitor Wrap Edges: Keep an eye on the edges of your wrap for any signs of lifting, especially during temperature fluctuations. While edge lifting is common due to vinyl’s natural expansion and contraction, prompt attention can prevent further issues and ensure long-term durability.

By following these care instructions and investing in regular maintenance, you can maximize the lifespan of your vehicle wrap and keep it looking vibrant and flawless for years to come. At Pureblind, we’re committed to providing you with top-tier wraps and ensuring your complete satisfaction with our products and services. Happy wrapping!

Working with Jordan Montera

Hey Guys! Today, we are going to take you from the beginning to the end of one of our favorite projects ever. Recently, we had the great honor of working with Jordan Montera, an Instagram influencer with an adventurous spirit and a heart of gold. We took his heavily modified Toyota Tundra, a canvas waiting to come to life, and made it into a true work of art!

The story began when Nick (Pureblind’s owner) crossed paths with Jordan at Overland Expo 2023, courtesy of our friends at Mountain Yotas and 4×4 Colorado. The chemistry between them was instant, bonded by mutual friends, a love of off-roading, and a similar creative spirit. After a great introductory conversation, Jordan graciously agreed to let Nick work his magic on his Tundra.

Before we could turn this ambitious vision into reality, Nick and Jordan had several face-to-face meetings. They carefully measured every inch of his vehicle, from the Tundra itself to the Super Pacific camper topper. This was essential, as the truck has several aftermarket modifications (bumpers, lights, and topper to name a few). During this process of meetings we also did a color match to Jordan’s original paint color (now called “Montera Green”) so that it could be used in the design itself.

By color matching to his green, all of the shades of green in his wrap exist within the same color family. So now when Jordan goes to open his doors and steps out, the greens from his door jams match seamlessly with his wrap. We went this extra mile to make sure this wrap looked as good as possible, even if most people won’t see it until he opens his doors. In fact, most people wouldn’t even notice we did that, which is exactly the point!

After meeting with Jordan and getting his color dialed in, Nick dived into the creative process, crafting the entire wrap from scratch. Nick is a lot like a tattoo artist, because he is able to read his client’s and what their “style” is based on conversations with them. He knew it had to be powerful, but also devoid of any ego, because that is how Jordan carries himself. As an artist, Nick’s mind latched onto the idea of doing a noble lion as the main focal point of the wrap. Honestly, Jordan wasn’t quite sure what to make of that idea at first, but he trusted nick and allowed him full creative freedom. The only nudges that Jordan would give nick were photos of other vehicles with custom camo patterns on them. Nick took that inspiration into account and created Jordan his own version of camo, 100% custom for this truck wrap. The camo works super well with the Lion, and gives the truck an urban and outdoorsy feel at the same time.

Designing in Adobe Illustrator is one thing, but creating full fledged large-scale artwork is another. Nick has had over 20 years of experience using Illustrator at a high level. As Nick would joke, if 10,000 hours makes you a master, he must be approaching grand master territory as he nears 100,000 hours. Truly, it’s hard to explain the level of detail, skill, patience and knowledge that must go into a wrap of this caliber to create it in a fully vector format. This mastery of digital art extends not only into illustrating at a high level, but also creating the wrap artwork in a way that will print correctly (colors, layout, sizing, etc) while not creating any design flaws.

After finalizing the design, Nick prepared it for print, and our world-class production team at Pureblind used the highest quality vinyl to ensure a perfect outcome. The precision and craftsmanship are a level above anything we have done before, making this one of our most powerful statement pieces ever. In terms of print quality, this wrap absolutely knocks it out of the park in every single way. It didn’t happen by accident, our entire team stepped up to make this wrap as outstanding as possible.

Once the prints were completed, our legendary installers meticulously took apart the truck and prepared it for installation. Once removing all of the door handles, mirrors, and sliding back the topper, they removed badges and wiped the entire vehicle down to ensure there was no contamination. They then laid out the vinyl on each individual panel, applying the vinyl while ensuring each panel matched up seamlessly. Once the vinyl was applied, they expertly trimmed the vinyl without cutting the paint, and perfectly reassembled the entire truck.

At this point, Nick himself added two coats of Adam’s Polishes Graphene Ceramic Coating, elevating the wrap’s finish. This coating is like adding a high quality wax on the entire surface of the vehicle. A wax that lasts for years and makes the wrap last much longer, while also making it much easier to take care of. The truck’s finish is now ultra high gloss, smooth as glass and hydrophobic, which is important during Colorado winters.

Our very last step with this project was a full video shoot “reveal” of Jordan’s truck. Because this was such a special occasion for us, we had a full unveiling of the truck and caught it on video. We were able to capture most of the entire process of this project in video, and we definitely plan to release more footage in the weeks and months ahead. In fact, we have over 700 GB of footage that we’re still sorting through – a visual journey from design to print and install.

Jordan’s Tundra now stands as a true work of art, a masterpiece that effortlessly turns heads and captures the essence of adventure. It’s a vehicle that demands attention and embodies the spirit of untamed exploration. Just like a lion, it’s powerful but doesn’t need to prove it to anyone. There’s no expense spared, and initial reactions to the wrap have been nothing short of groundbreaking. As avant garde as the wrap is, we really love it and the feedback we have gotten from it is incredible.

We’re immensely proud of this project’s outcome and extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jordan for entrusting us with his truck, and supporting Pureblind unconditionally. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from the Pureblind team as we continue to redefine the boundaries of design and embark on extraordinary projects. We’re stoked to have you along for this incredible journey!

Sherpa’s Racing Roadrunner

Hey, folks! Today, we’re thrilled to share the story behind our collaboration with Sherpa Equipment Company. If you aren’t familiar with Sherpa, they specialize in making adventure mods for vehicles and are very well known for their roof rack systems. Recently, they gave us the opportunity to create a custom wrap for their racing 4Runner, and we couldn’t have been more stoked to be part of this project!

For a little bit of background, Pureblind met Sherpa at the Overland Expo Mountain West in 2022 through a mutual friend and the owner of Mountain Yotas. Right off the bat they could tell that they would work well together, as both companies share the same values, creativity, and adventurous spirit.

Before starting the design, Nick, the owner of Pureblind, went to Sherpa’s state-of-the-art facility in Berthoud, Colorado. Here, he gained a genuine understanding of their brand and immersed himself in their vision. Just like how a good tattoo artist tries to understand their client before they start working on their artwork, Nick likes to take the time to get to know his clients and get a sense of their style and personality before making his designs. Getting a hands-on look at how the client operates, what their design goals are, and how the vehicle itself is configured all comes into play when creating a custom wrap.

Using his expert skills in Adobe Illustrator, Nick hand drew the wrap from scratch on a wacom cintiq tablet. Creating digital art this way allows him to capture the hand-drawn look of traditional art, but with all of the benefits of vector artwork. This wrap features the same vibrant yellow and black color scheme as the original wrap on they had, but now with a dominant Roadrunner taking center stage. During the design process, Nick made a deliberate decision to emphasize the Roadrunner and let it become the focal point. With the hood and back of the vehicle not being a major factor, he had to focus most of his attention on the sides. The result is a wrap that is energetic, stylized and captures the spirit of adventure, staying true to Sherpa’s brand identity while incorporating Nick’s artistic style. We are super happy with how this wrap turned out!

What makes this project even more special is the element of surprise. We kept this project under wraps until Sherpa unveiled it at King of the Hammers. It was super hard not to share it, but we did everything we could to keep it top secret! Now that the wrap has been released, this one of a kind 4Runner will also be making appearances at various expos throughout the season, not only showcasing all of the crazy modifications that they have done to it, but the wrap itself.

At Pureblind, we believe in the power of custom artwork and the joy it brings to both creators and admirers. We love the excitement of designing unique wraps that make vehicles come alive. Whether you’re an individual looking to express your personal style or a business seeking to make a statement, we’re here to help bring your vision to life.

Stay tuned for more updates from the Pureblind crew as we continue to push the boundaries of design and embark on thrilling projects. We’re grateful to have you alongside us on this incredible journey!

An Amazing Project – Backwoods Adventure Mods and Mountain Yotas!

At Pureblind, we pride ourselves on being a high-end vehicle wrap shop that specializes in creating artistic designs for our clients. Our talented designers have won awards for their work, and we have a world-class print production facility equipped with state-of-the-art printers and equipment.

That means every wrap we create is just about as good as it gets.

Backwoods Adventure ModsWhen we met the Backwoods Adventure Mods team at Overland Expo Mountain West through our friend Dwight Houser, owner of Mountain Yotas, we were excited to work with them. Backwoods is a great company based out of Arkansas that focuses on making bumpers and accessories for off-road style vehicles. They had a vision to make one of the most badass Toyota Tacomas around, and we were thrilled to be a part of it!

Mountain Yotas did the build on the vehicle, adding suspension, wheels, tires, and an aggressive look, while we designed, printed, and installed the vehicle wrap. We have done several wraps for Mountain Yotas, including Dwight’s truck, which is a custom art wrap with a skull-faced astronaut battling “UFTs” (unidentified flying tires). That truck was featured in the Backwoods booth at Overland Expo Mountain West in 2022, and was part of the reason Backwoods wanted to go with Pureblind for their wrap. They saw how much attention Dwight’s truck got, and they knew they had to have something with a similar level of detail, artistic vision, and install quality.

Ceramic CoatingThe Backwoods wrap features a wild boar romping through the mud and is printed in greyscale with a lot of grit and power. It’s a show-stopper, and we are super happy with how it turned out! The designer who worked on this project is our owner, Nick Hughes, who has a diverse background in art, specifically digital art. It’s his passion for art that led him to create Pureblind in the first place. While Nick is a busy guy, he felt strongly about this project and was eager to take it on. His first attempt at the design was very similar, but instead of a Wild Boar he made it a Bear. The Backwoods guys loved the design, but thought it would be awesome to make it a Wild Boar as a nod to their roots in Arkansas. Nick was more than happy to make that change, and the end result is a vehicle wrap that perfectly fits the Backwoods brand and vision.

Not only did we wrap the truck, but we also applied a nano-ceramic coating that provides excellent UV protection and makes the truck essentially maintenance-free. The coating is a durable Ceramic Pro ceramic coating, which was also installed by our talented team. Now that is ceramic coated the Backwoods team can go out mudding and literally spray it off with a garden hose. Not to mention, the wrap itself will last significantly longer now that it has a ceramic coating.

The reaction to this truck wrap has been incredible, and it’s a great example of what we can do at Pureblind. It’s going to be at several major off-roading events scattered throughout the country as a main attraction to the Backwoods booth.

A Mini-Truck GiftIn fact, the Backwoods team was so pleased with the result that they decided to commission a 1:10 scale RC truck that was an exact replica of their custom Tacoma. We also designed, printed, and installed the mini-truck, which was given to the founder of Backwoods as a Christmas gift. It’s so accurate that they actually had a custom topper made for the mini-truck to match the exact topper on their real truck!

We’re extremely proud of the work we did for Backwoods Adventure Mods. The custom Tacoma we wrapped with the wild boar design turned out to be a true showstopper that perfectly captures the brand’s adventurous spirit. We’re honored to have worked with Mo and Ty, the guys behind Backwoods. They were a pleasure to work with and honestly some of the nicest guys we have ever done work for. The entire project was a collaboration between some of the best names in the off-road industry, including Mountain Yotas, who did the build on the truck. It’s always an exciting challenge to create a wrap that fits a client’s brand without any constraints, and we’re glad we were able to exceed their expectations. Our top-notch design, printing, and installation teams all came together to create a wrap that’s truly a work of art.

We’re excited to see where Backwoods takes their Tacoma next and can’t wait to be a part of their next big project!
